The 1640H ride-on lawn tractor is a high-spec mower suitable for gardens of up to 3 acres in size. Its tight turning circle and light steering make it ideal for manoeuvring around trees and other garden obstacles. As with all Mountfield ride-ons, it cuts wider than the wheel width, meaning you’ll have very little trimming left over after mowing.

Hydrostatic tranmission makes speed and direction changes a breeze and acts similarly to an automatic transmission car. Simply press down on the front of the acceleration pedal to move forward, pressing more firmly to go faster. To reverse, just press down on the rear of the pedal.

The cutting deck is designed to move the grass efficiently from the twin-bladed cutting deck into the large capacity grass collection box at the rear of the machine. The audible alarm when the collector is full lets you know when it’s time to empty, which can be performed without leaving the seat. Simply lift the dump lever and the collector will open behind you, letting you get straight back to work without the need to get off the tractor. What’s more, even the cutting height can be adjusted, without tools, from the seat and while on the move.

When you’re done mowing, the deck wash facility makes keeping the machine clean extremely simple. Just attach a hose to the snap-on connector, start the waterflow and engage the blades. The spinning blades help circulate the water and keep the deck clean.

Included as standard are a tow bar and a mulch plug. Mulching works by recycling your grass clippings to feed the nutrients back into the soil. Not only does it leave a healthy, beautiful lawn, it also bypasses the need to empty the grass collector – speeding up your mowing time.
